Terence’s parents had hired Kenorah in the 1980’s to design and build the home HE grew up in, as a child. 30 years later, when he and his wife Emily were looking to build a home for THEIR young family, they called Kenorah again. We met to discuss their dreams for their future home. After our meeting, we came back and presented them with a thorough proposal outlining expected costs and timelines.
Design
We commenced on design, and after some preliminary research, we realized that the location of the home meant that it would require significant geotechnical work and the installation of countless piles being pounded into the earth below the structure to support the home.
We designed the home to suit the current needs of the family, but also considered future lifestyle changes. As well as the home, we worked to design a beautiful laneway home for the parents.
Working with Terence and Emily, we specified all products, fixtures and finishes. From exterior design to the layout of the cabinet drawers in the kitchen, every single detail was planned in advance.
Construct
We worked to manage the complex realities of the excavation and foundation process, while keeping the homeowner informed and educated throughout the process. Once the foundation was poured and backfilled, it was smooth sailing from that point on. With all decisions made prior to construction, our team was able to move quickly and efficiently. Terence and Emily were provided weekly updates to ensure everyone was aligned and informed at all times.
