Old World Elegance, Modern Day Performance

This stunning estate home in the prestigious First Shaughnessy neighborhood was built in 1914. It was in dire need of a complete renovation in order to restore it to it's original grandeur.

The entire home was raised 20' off the ground, which allowed the original, deteriorating, foundation to be removed, and a 10' depth basement to be excavated, formed and poured, featuring Insulated Concrete Forms. A small addition was incorporated into the design to allow a more spacious living area on the main floor. A new garage was designed to match the existing home.

The entire interior of the  home was gutted to the studs, and all floors were levelled. Insulation value was increased to meet modern, strict insulation regulations.

The new interior features over 4300 square feet of exquisitely finish living, over 4 floors, and now has a fully finished basement (including a stunning wine room!).

Partnering with the Shaughnessy Heritage Conservation, we worked to ensure the entire project was in compliance with the Heritage Guidelines and regulations. Original exterior stone was salvaged and blended into new columns, original lead glass windows were retained and reintegrated back into new, energy efficient wood sash windows, the exterior envelope was 90% retained, and chimneys and existing wood burning fireplaces were re-finished retained.
Kenorah also fully landscaped the entire property, creating a stunning backdrop to compliment the beautifully restored and renovated home.
